On Tuesday 10th October Year 2 went on a trip to the Streetlife museum. This trip linked to their History topic work about old toys.
The children took part in a Victorian toys workshop as part of their day. They found out about life in Victorian times for both boys and girls. This included the wearing of traditional Victorian hats.
They looked at a variety of different Victorian toys and discussed how these are different to our toys today.
The children had a hands on experience with playing with some of the old toys. They loved the challenge of making the toys move and work.
We also looked round the whole museum and found out about how life has changed. We enjoyed looking in the chemist to find out what products were for sale, the carriage ride proved a big hit with all the children and we enjoyed being able to look at and sit in a variety of old style transport vehicles.
