Last week (29th June to 3rd July) has been a week of investigations and explorations at Biggin as the children took on science week. All across the school from foundation stage up to year 6, the children have been getting involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through interactive, hands-on and occasionally, ‘messy’ science!
Children have been racing cars, exploring sound, erupting volcanoes, making parachutes, lava lamps, aeroplanes and investigating animals and their habitats as well as much, much more!
Biggin has also been fortunate enough to have had visitors running various workshops across all age ranges including technological transferring in years 5 and 6 by the team from KC Communications, BAE systems in year 2 and Humberside Training and Engineering Association (HETA) in year 1 and foundation stage. The ARCO SSC Bloodhound land speed record team also shared their car kits with years 3 and 4.
We hope that science week has inspired the next generation of scientists and engineers!
