FREE SCHOOL MEALS
As you may be aware from September 2014 children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will all be entitled to a school meal for free. I’m sure you will agree that this is an excellent idea however it does present two major problems which we need to overcome.

Firstly – the funding schools receive depends upon how many children are registered for free school meals. Therefore it is vitally important that you register for free school meals, even if your child is getting one automatically from September.

Secondly – the number of children having a school dinner next year will increase significantly, therefore we may need to change the school day so that Reception children have an earlier lunchtime.

We will keep you informed about what we are going to do to make this work. But in the meantime if your child is not registered for free school meals, especially if they are starting school in September, will you please apply.

You can apply for free school meals by coming into the school office and picking up a free school meals form or click here to apply online.

Thank you for your continued support.
