Our international partnerships curriculum is enquiry based, fully inclusive and meets the needs of all learners, starting from building strong foundations in our EYFS, supporting and challenging them on their journey to being secondary ready, and ultimately ensuring that they are equipped with the cultural capital, skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the future.
Meet our International Coordinator
Miss R Emerson
At Biggin Hill Primary School Academy we incorporate the teaching of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across the curriculum and cover a variety of world issues such as plastic pollution, climate change and quality education. This allows the children to develop a deeper understanding and respect for the wider world in which we live.
Our partnership with Progressive Primary School in Freetown, Sierra Leone, plays a crucial role in developing this understanding. In the Spring Term of 2019, both schools played part in a teacher exchange programme and successful visits took place from both the head at Progressive Primary School who spent a week working with the children at Biggin Hill and Mr Dale spent a successful week working at Progressive Primary School in Freetown.
As our partnership progresses, we will work on multiple joint projects that will take our partnership to the next stage. Through future visits to their school in Freetown we aim to share our knowledge and we will learn so much from them. Our aim is to make the children at Biggin Hill Primary School Academy global citizens and this partnership gives a great foundation for our ever developing global curriculum.
Here are our International Pupil Council members for 2019 when they met the Lord Mayor at Longhill Primary School.
