Little Devils Kitchen

Little Devil’s kitchen was held at Winifred Holtby Academy on Wednesday 25th February, we took 30 children for a day of different workshops: Maths behind the menu, Food from around the world (looking at where food comes from), a kitchen hygiene and service workshop, where children learnt how to wait tables and be safe and hygenic in a kitchen, and then they went into the food technology rooms and created a 2 course dinner for parents to eat at the restaurant they created.
The restaurant name was created by 2 girls in Miss Cowley’s class and was called “Biggin’s Busy Bee’s”.
They made chicken and vegetable skewers with a honey and soy glaze, sides of cous cous and for pudding an apple and sultana crumble.
The day was hosted by the Smile foundation, ran by Terrie Oakshot with volunteers from local businesses.
Everyone had a fantastic time and the food was delicious!
